A Little About Grace’s Background and Life
Grace was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the US in 2003 for her husband’s graduate studies. She has successfully raised their family of 4 kids, who are now ages 20, 18, 16, and 14.
In Grace’s words, “It’s been quite a journey of many ups and downs, but we carry on, just trying to find balance and live our best lives.”
I think her story is relatable to many women, and I love being able to highlight each woman’s individual stories!
Q+A with Grace:
Why was being part of the 40 Over 40 Nashville Portrait Photography experience important to you?
We moved to TN over 5 yrs ago, and I found this liberating group dance fitness called REFIT (REvolutionizing FITness). It helps you recognize that you are ENOUGH at whatever age, weight, and phase you’re on. The workouts are not just about the muscle but more so about the heart. I have started embracing my hair full of grays, the post-pregnancy weight that doesn’t want to budge, and just danced.
It was the PERFECT time to celebrate with a 40 over 40 Photoshoot!
What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Lighten up; it’ll all come to pass. It’s the relationships you’ll remember the most.
What is your profession?
Banker
What are your biggest achievements?
My biggest achievement in life: Keeping my teenagers alive.
What are your hobbies?
Hobbies: Gardening, dance, and listening to audible books.
What is your personal motto?
Bloom where you’re planted.
What is something that matters to you?
My faith, family, and relationships.
What quote defines you?
“Be a better version of your yesterday’s self.”
What would you like your legacy to be?
That someone else was better off for having known me.
